The Gardens

Tamborine Cooking School is set in established gardens at the end of a sweeping driveway lined with hedges and agapanthus. It includes 2 acres of exotics, natives, rainforest, vegetable and ornamental gardens, bordered by towering white flooded gums with views over the Albert Valley to the mountains of the Scenic Rim.

The garden was established in 1980 and boast mature liquidambers, magnolia, jacaranda, camellia, cypress, gingko, avocado, viburnum trees and a spectacular bunya pine. In 2007 the garden was rejubenated with extensive renovation and brought back to life with under-plantings of gardenias, rhododendrons, plectanthrus, hydrangeas, bromeliads, camellias, azaleas, tibbouchinas, clivias, canna lilies as well as many other perennials, annuals and seasonal bulbs.

The organic vegetable and herb garden ws established in early 2008 and is thriving in the rich red soil and termperate climate of Mt Tamborine. Most of the produce used in the cooking school is harvested fresh that morning. Future plans include an extension of the orchard with more tropical fruit and citrus trees as well as the re-establishment of rainforest and native plantings in order to attract more birds on the western escarpment.

When you visit, you will enjoy a stroll along the garden paths to secluded spots and discover delightful vistas at every turn.
